This bespoke oak joinery project in Edenbridge originally began as a staircase replacement, before gradually evolving into a much larger bespoke carpentry project carried out across several stages within the home.

The first phase involved replacing the existing staircase with this beautiful oak staircase aswell as wall panelling and recessed stair lighting. Structural alterations were also carried out at this stage to improve headroom and allow more natural light into the stairwell area.

Following on from this, we were later commissioned to design and install the large bespoke oak bookcase and storage wall beneath and alongside the staircase. Built specifically around the layout of the room, the joinery combined open shelving, concealed storage and integrated lighting to create a feature that feels completely built into the home.

One of the standout details of the project was the hidden bookcase door leading through into the lounge. Designed without visible handles or hinges, the concealed doorway blends directly into the shelving and is operated using a book hidden amongst the customers book collection.

Additional bespoke carpentry was also completed throughout the property, including fitted storage and a wardrobe unit in one of the bedrooms.
